Vintage 1923 Buccanoy Shirt - grey striped

Our 1923 Buccanoy Shirt is the right choice when you want something a little more upmarket. What inspired us to do this? All the shirts in our 1923 Buccanoy series are based on a historical model from the twenties, which itself looks back on an even much older tradition. As early as the mid-19th century, men's fashion favoured stand-up collared shirts. The highlight of the reduced collar shape: short stand-up collars offered the possibility of buttoning on another more elegant collar - at that time preferably the so-called patricide. The detachable add-on not only gave the shirt a more formal character, it also made it easier to clean and starch the collar part, which was more affected and got dirty faster. Until the 1940s, this type of shirt enjoyed great popularity, until it was more and more displaced by the models with turn-down collars, which are firmly attached to the shirt and are still widespread today.
